Job Description
Electric Boat Process Engineering is looking for motivated candidates who are eager to:

The Process Engineering Organization provides mission-critical support to EB leadership and their functional organizations by developing and managing the organization's improvement strategies, executing improvement initiatives, mentoring and supporting employees in executing improvement, and measuring the impact of improvement activities.
These activities are linked to EB business objectives and support our commitment to the US Navy to design, build, and deliver submarines that enable their continued supremacy. Selected applicants will receive extensive training and certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Change Leadership and Process Management in support of improving Electric Boat‚ s business processes. Candidates will be responsible for leading cross-functional projects teams to improve safety and quality, reduce cost, and improve schedule performance.
This job falls into the process engineering department responsible for supporting the Vice Presidents and Directors in Service & Support (Quality, Planning, Materials, Finance, IT, etc.); this role specifically will support the Quality organization.
This role includes the following responsibilities:
  • Work with leadership and employees on applying Lean & Six Sigma approaches to help achieve process excellence
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement at Electric Boat
  • Provide mentorship to employees while leading change
  • Identify and eliminate barriers that prevent successful attainment of the company‚ s improvement goals
Hourly MDA applicants, if selected, will remain in their current job title.
Education/ Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related degree with equivalent experience.
  • Excellent project management skills with a working knowledge of the principles of analytical problem solving techniques are required.
  • An understanding of basic probability and statistics is required.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Candidates must be capable of combining assertive initiative with professional discipline to accomplish challenging tasks, and work as change agents to remove barriers that hinder change.
  • Candidate must successfully complete company-provided Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt training, pass training course exams, and complete certification requirements to remain in this role.
  • Past training in Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, networking ability, and business acumen.
  • Prior Green Belt and Black Belt training and certification.
  • Past experience with Lean, Kaizen, or Toyota Production Systems.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
