The GBS Group is currently looking to hire a motivated Engineering Technician to provide support of Waterfront Operations Department. Responsible for the coordinating and progressive work between the maintenance teams, and ships/customers. Work closely with the Material Manager, Availability Manager, the Ship/Class Maintenance Teams, and ships/customers.
Skills Required:
Must have 6
years full-time, technical hands-on experience.
Must have knowledge of maintenance procedures, practices, and techniques common to the operation of RMC, SUPSHIP, Naval Sea System Command and TYCOMs.
Must have knowledge of operations, maintenance, installation, testing and/or repair of shipboard mechanical/electrical and electronic systems/equipment.
Must have knowledge of ship repair and overhaul techniques to effectively and professionally coordinate and progress availabilities.
Experience with the Application of ERP management systems, as required.
Must have knowledge of Naval Ship's Configuration and Major Shipboard Systems, to provide a general understanding of the work to be performed during availability.
Candidates are required to possess the following professional
Qualifications:
Have experience working on or aboard US Navy vessels is required.
Must have strong work ethics and dedication.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance required.
Attention to quality and details.
Must possess problem-solving and analytical skills.
Candidate must have a commitment to safety and quality and be familiar with tag out safety protocols and lock out devices.
Must be able to read, use, and understand complex marine schematics and drawings.
Must work well with people and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Education Requirements:
Candidate must be a graduate of a high school, trade or industrial school; or possess a GED equivalent.
